Daniel and Fran set up The Outside Kitchen & Bar back in 2009, after 10 years working in the fashion industry, as they blagged their way through the industry we finally became the best catering company in yorkshire 😜
We have kept our love for bespoke service and now create individual events, unique to the client. We love to mix different styles and cultures into our menus, fusing together Fran’s Colombian heritage, the places we love to travel to and of course our British roots..

‘Big Boss Man’
Our fearless leader and food obsessed mastermind. At 40, he’s surrounded by a squad of 20 year olds.. He still tries to keep up with the trends but trust us, it’s not as “cool” as he thinks it is. But what he lacks in youthfulness, he makes up for with top tier banter and the ability to chew your ear off about absolutely anything. The boss, the brain, the big personality.

(The Colombian)
Mother of the family - wife of Daniel (another over-achiever!) Francesca has poured her blood, sweat and tears into this business. Yes, that does sound grim, but she still manages to be the most gorgeous, lovely, caring woman. She’s behind all things creative and proudly the voice of the people. If it looks good, sounds good, or even feels good…. It’s probably because of her.

Joely
Joely started with us at 14 years old, serving guests their food with a smile and absolutely no idea that she’d one day become events manager and ultimate go 2 gal for all things coordination. To you, she’s the woman who can plan a flawless event in her sleep. To us…. well, her real talent is sleeping through her alarm clock.

DECLAN | CALUM | Johnny
Where would we be without our amazing chefs!
Dec - Dec joined us as a 16 year old pot washer, armed with nothing but the ability to know the words to every song. Fast forward 5 years and he’s now a 21 year old amazing chef, leading the kitchen like a pro. He’s got enough energy to power the entire kitchen during a blackout. If you wander into our tasting rooms and hear a mysterious high pitched screech, don’t be alarmed, it’s just Dec channeling his inner George Michael.
Calum - Calum has been with us for a few years now, starting out as front of house and now dazzling everyone in the kitchen as one of our talented chefs. Not only can he whip up a seriously good meal, he’s also known to woo your bridesmaids (with his terrible jokes). When he’s not plating up perfection, you’ll probably catch him belting out Frank Sinatra and attempting a high note that may or may not register on the Richter scale.
KP Johnny - Johnny is the guy we never knew we needed and now absolutely can’t live without. None of us would be able to get on with our day without seeing Johnnys smiley face (a smile so rare we’re considering putting it on the endangered species list). Powered by his truly magnificent muscles (which he will happily show you at any given opportunity) Johnny gets through more lifting, scrubbing and hauling than the rest of us.

Natalie
Natalie might be the newest member of our ultimate team, but she’s certainly not new to OKB. She’s been with us for many years, giving our couples endless laughs and brightening every room she walks into. Now she’s a core part of our team, running events like an absolute trooper. If you receive an email from her, please don’t be alarmed by the occasional creative spelling choice… she really does try her best, bless her.
